ICT as situating tools

Situating tool ensure hand on experience for learners. While exploring the ICT as situating tool i was bit confused because this application was completely new for me. Now after knowing more about situating tool i love to explore it more and i wish it would have been more effective if  my teacher have used this application to teach me the concepts that i faced difficult to get during my school days. This application can be used to all the subject matter especially in science subject; like i have given link of the example below;

Google classroom is also the one of the best example of situating tool. Google classroom can be used as best platform for teaching learning via online.  
As a future teacher if we can integrate google classroom we have lot of benefits. Some of the benefits are as follow; 
               -we can let students to participate from anywhere
               - less time required
               - provide students opportunities for hand on experiences and
               - it will make retention power high
I enjoyed the experience that i got while exploring the google map. 

Its fun and effective to know the time in other country so that we can reached to our friends those who stay there at good timing. The learning become more realistic when we engage students in learning.

My experience on Google Doc

This particular course provided me an opportunity to apply what i learned in the class to real life situation. Considering all the benefits of this course, this course encouraged continual work outside of the classroom.
Google doc is one of the co-constructive tools that i came across and that i like the most. Google doc emphasis on collaboration, and partnership working. It also includes the interaction process such as cooperation and coordination. It has two section: one is where we actually keep on writing about topic like i have given below;

and the another one is where the discussion among member happen. I have given the sample below.
As per my experience i felt that google doc is most important tool where we can get help and learn from others and expand our knowledge. The procedures that i followed to create google doc are as follow;
1) Log in using google ID in www.docs.google.com
2) Create the activity template below in the google docs (one member from the group can do this)
3) Then lastly share with other member with "can edit" access.
This system is incredibly simple and easy to use. The student could also seamlessly access and utilize within a short time frame  but we have to work as team.

Camtasia studio


Camtasia Studio is a software program that is used for creating a video tutorial to make our lesson effective. Camtasia Studio allows us to capture or record computer screen. It makes learning more real and dynamic compared to the traditional education system. Using a video is a new way to learning and it can grab the attention of the student, unlike normal classroom teaching. In Camtasia, we can add images, sounds, text, animations, video clips, voice narration, and edit videos. We can also capture live videos. When information is presented in the form of the video there are audio, animation, graphics, and texts. Students can perceive information easily and learn more. It will be helpful for the student who missed the class as video can be saved for reference.

My experience of using Camtasia in making video lessons was an innovative task that I never thought I will be doing on my own. I was completely blank when I heard that I have to make a video lesson using Camtasia. However, I developed confidence while going through the video tutorial that my tutor has provided.  These videos assisted me to record the video.  Preparing a video lesson was one of the wonderful experiences that I got so far. I have enjoyed it as well as I learned a lot. To make the video tutorial, I explored many things in Camtasia studio. I learned how to record live video. I edited my video by adding animations, background music, and deleting unwanted videos. I can also erase background sounds to make the audio more pleasant. After all, performing all this task I could come up with a video tutorial. 
When I make a live video on my lesson I could get a clear picture of how my teaching is and also my language. I could see that I have a lot of things to remember and improved before delivering to the student. Using Camtasia studio is more effective as I can create and edit recording video as per the students’ needs. If some information is missed I can instantly add, delete unnecessary information, add colorful images and videos. This enhances the quality of the lesson and it can be used record for future references. I am glad that I could make an adverse impact if I know how to make a video lesson. As a future teacher, I will be able to make a video tutorial for my students and engage the student. 
Camtasia Studio can be used to incorporate e-learning in our country where learners can avail services online which is outside the classroom. E- Learning has become popular in technology advancement. As a future educator, we need to be prepared and incorporate technology in learning. The integration of technology in teaching and learning can enhance students’ knowledge, motivate students, make the student independent, and boost their learning. Presenting information through video lessons will be more convincing to students since ideas are explained explicitly using an image, animation, and graphics which appears like the real one. Sometimes, it is quite exciting to learn from the video since the students rather than listening to lectures. We can deliver our lesson more accurately through videos than real classroom teaching. So Camtasia studio can change teaching and learn in many ways.

 

 

 


Example of communicative tool that I come across





I see the VLE platform is more effective for communicating with my friends and teacher. In this platform we can perform multiple tasks such as chat, uploading notes, and submitting assignments and get a variety of information related to the topic in different forms. We can access many modules through this platform and it is more convenient for us to use one tool for the learning. We can get many responses from the tutor as well as a friend. I also get many ideas when I read through the post by my mates. When tutors upload the information in the video, audio, text, graphics, etc it helps me to understand more about the topic. My tutors always upload videos on the content we are learning and give us the assignment. I can easily complete my assignment using videos and I also get more information from the video. This is forum is more convenient as I can log in whenever I want and check what is going in the particular module. To communicate I do not have to respond immediately. I think this platform is suitable to use as I can also share my ideas and views with other friends. When we get a chance to share I feel to write more precisely and land up putting more effort to produce an excellent piece. The positive feedback from the tutors inspires us to write more. Thus, this platform helps to improve ourselves.


                                                                                               

 

 

 

Challenge face in learning online class compared to the real classroom situation

The online classroom is learning from the internet without having to come together in the classroom. There are many advantages to an online class. Online class eliminates the barriers to learning such as limited space, time, and resources. Besides, the online class is challenging for us. Since online class needs access to the internet, we cannot carry out a task if there is a weak internet in our area. We lose interest to learn from it and our tasks cannot be completed on time. The online class is new to our learning and it is challenging for us to manage time. It could be because we were only learning in a real classroom for a long time. Another challenge that we face in carrying out the online task. We lack the knowledge of how to use applications, software, and hardwires. These tools are new to us and we have limited knowledge of it.

Online learning is also challenging too many of us. Some friends could not attend video conferencing with a tutor because the internet is weak in their area. In this way, they miss important information from them and feeling bored when the net is very slow. When online learning is practiced, I feel that learning is more of an individual process. We need to complete lots of assignments individually. Learning is becoming a workload and diminishes our interest respectively. One of the issues in the online class is an online test. The test is an assessment of our learning and we become more comprehensive to perform the test. When performing a test, there are many factors such as time, internet accessibility, and skills. We are not acquainted performing tests online and could not perform well even we know. When we attempt the questions, we need to know the steps precisely to perform the test, one accident going to ruin the whole test. For example, if the power is down using the test, we lose the whole thing that we have done.  Sometimes, students accidentally press unwanted keys and whole data gets deleted. The online class is unlike our real classroom. An individual needs to be more cautious and active. We need to be solely responsible for our learning.

Learning from the online classroom is as effective as the real classroom. We can share our ideas and read other ideas through email, Google docs, email, VLE platforms, blogs, and other social networking. We can get adequate information on the content we are learning whereby we can get comprehensive ideas on the topic. Since tutors also have access to our learning, we could perform better and keep the learning on the track. An excellent example of an online classroom is an online class that we are having during the COVID 19 pandemic where all the schools, colleges, and institutions are closed. Despite being closed, student’s learning is still going and they are learning effectively. What we do is, tutors assign tasks and provide lots of materials on the online platform. We need to read and share our understanding online. When we share online, we can listen and read different ideas, we can get much information and reflect on our ideas. Tutors correct our works and guide us to authentic learning. Whenever I have trouble understanding I can directly contact my friends online and seek help. This collaboration has made learning more fun and engaging to us.

ICT can even be used as communicative tool as it is a system that allows easy communication between teacher and student, student to student or student to community. When I say as a communicative tool it can be of two type that are synchronous communicative tools such as video conference which enable real-time communication and asynchronous example email which we use to exchange the messages that are not live. It is appropriate for activities that required more time to think before responding.
ICT plays a vital role as a communicative tool in the global pandemic that is happening this year. We are taking class through Video conference, Google meet, E-mail, Wechat and discussion forum thus proving ICT as communicative tool.
